Mobile Employee Alerting: How Lufthansa Ensures the Safety of Crew Members Worldwide
Available On Demand
Synopsis
Not only due to the legal duty of care, the responsibility for the safety of its own employees is one of the most important tasks of a company. Events such as natural disasters, accidents, political unrest, terrorist attacks or health risks can threaten the safety of employees everywhere. Consequently, welfare measures are increasingly becoming a relevant factor when deciding on an employer.
Ensuring occupational safety and health is a challenge, especially for organisations that operate internationally. Many companies send employees to other countries, which can complicate the flow of communication in emergency and crisis situations. But in such situations, fast communication between employer and employee is essential to protect workers from threats and dangers. Hardly any company knows this better than Lufthansa: As one of the largest airlines worldwide, Lufthansa is represented in more than 100 countries and thus responsible for employees in the most diverse regions. According to the widely expanded route network, crews with different stays durations in any countries, all of whom have to be alerted in case of an emergency in their location.
In this web seminar, Filipe Marques Pereira, Security Duty Manager at Deutsche Lufthansa AG, reveals how the FACT24 alerting solution keeps crew members abroad informed of risks and current incidents at the relevant location. In addition, we will learn how targeted and location-based alerting is made possible in order to transmit critical information in crisis situations to the people involved in real time.
